Ingredients Red Velvet Cake:

¼ cup butter softened
-
¾ cup sugar
-
1 egg
-
1 tbsp. cocoa
-
1-ounce red food coloring
-
½ Tsp. vanilla
-
½ tsp. salt
-
½ cup buttermilk
-
1 cup flour
-
½ tbsp. vinegar
-
½ tsp baking soda
Ingredients Cheesecake Filling:

1 1/2 lb cream cheese
-
1 ½ cup sugar
-
5 large eggs
-
16oz. sour cream
-
¼ cup flour
-
1 tsp vanilla
-
2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions Red Velvet Cake:

Prepare (grease and flour) 9” springform pan.

Preheat oven to 350Fdegrees
-
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and eggs.

In a small bowl, make a paste of the food coloring and the cocoa. Add to the butter mixture.

In a medium bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, and vanilla. Mix well.

Alternate adding the buttermilk mixture and the flour mixture to the butter mixture.

In a small bowl, mix the vinegar and baking soda together. Fold into the main mixture.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes.

Let cool completely.
Instructions for Cheesecake Filling:

In a large bowl, cream the cream cheese until light and fluffy.

Slowly add the sugar. Beat until creamy.

Add eggs one at a time. It’s important to beat well after every egg is added.

Add flour, vanilla, and lemon juice and mix well.

Divide batter into six bowls and color each bowl the following colors; red, purple, yellow, light blue, green and orange.

Alternate dropping spoonfuls of different color batters on top of the cooled red velvet cake. Swirl lightly when all the batter is added.

Place on the middle rack and bake for one hour and 15 minutes.

Next, prop the door open, turn off the oven and let cheesecake sit in the oven for one hour.

Remove from oven and let cool on the counter and once cool place in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
