Milky Way Cake

Yield: 1 Cake


  • 5 Milky Way Candy Bars

  • 1 Cup butter

  • 2 Cups sugar

  • 4 eggs (separated)

  • 2 1/2 cups flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk

  • 1 cup pecans (chopped)

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels (melted)


  1. Preheat oven to 325F degrees

  2. Grease and flour an angel food cake pan

  3. Over low heat in a small pot, melt candy bars and 1/2 cup of butter.

  4. Using an electric mixer, cream together the sugar and 1/2 cup butter. Cream until light and fluffy.

  5. Add the candy bar mixture and mix well.

  6. Add egg yolks one at a time. Blend well after each egg.

  7. Sift flour in a medium bowl and set aside.

  8. In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in the buttermilk.

  9. Alternate between adding the buttermilk mixture, and the flour into the candy bar mixture. Ending with the flour.

  10. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites. Beat until you reach stiff peaks. Fold into the candy bar mixture.

  11. Mix in the chopped pecans to the mix.

  12. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Let cool completely and frost with melted semi-sweet chocolate.
