Cinnamon Sugar Syrup
Ingredients:

4 cups water
-
4 cups sugar
-
2 tbsp cinnamon
-
1/4 cup cinnamon red hot candies
Instructions:

In a saucepan, boil all the ingredients together for 20 minutes.

Boil until the sugar dissolved and the sauce reduces by one third.

Set aside until later.
Apples
Ingredients:

12 Medium cooking apples
-
1/2 pound butter
-
1 cup sugar
-
2 tbsps. cinnamon
-
12 cinnamon red hot candies
-
2 pounds pie dough rolled to 1/8-inch thick (12 6-inch circles)

Cinnamon sugar syrup
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350F Degrees.

Core the apple three-quarters of the way through the apple. Start from the top and leaving 1/4-inch from the bottom.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Cream until smooth.

Fill each apple with the mixture. Place a red hot candy on top of each one.

Divide the pie dough into 12 pieces of equal size.

Cover an apple with each piece of pie dough. Making sure to cover the entire apple and sealing the top.

Place the apples on a 12 x 12 -inch baking dish.

Bake for 30 minutes.

Cover with the cinnamon sugar syrup and bake for an additional 30 minutes.

Serve with whipped cream.
