Contemporary French Toast

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/2 tsp sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon, divided

  • 1/8 tsp salt

  • 1 loaf sourdough bread cut into 3/4 inch slices

  • Butter/oil

  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar

Instructions: ​​

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the milk, sugar, eggs, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.

  2. On a plate, place confectioners’ sugar and remaining cinnamon. Mix together well.

  3. Heat oil in a large skillet.

  4. Dip bread slices into the milk mixture and soak well.

  5. Place bread slice in the hot oil and fry on both sides.

  6. Once fried, roll in confectioners sugar mixture.

  7. Serve still hot.
