Yield: 40 (2-inch) Scones
Ingredients:

4 cups all-purpose flour

3 tablespoon baking powder
-
½ cup sugar
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
2 tablespoons margarine
-
2 tablespoons shortening
-
3 eggs, beaten
-
1 ¼ cups milk
-
1 cup golden raisins
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425F degrees.

Lightly grease a cookie sheet.

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Using your hands, work the margarine and shortening into the flour with your fingertips. The mixture should resemble coarse meal.

In a medium bowl, combine the beaten eggs and milk. Slowly add to the flour mixture until the dough comes together. Fold in the raisins to the mixture.

On a clean and lightly floured surface, roll out the dough until ½-inch thick. Use a circular cutter to cut out scones. Place on sheet.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. They will be golden brown.

Serve with Devonshire cream or butter and jam.
Note: Can be made sweeter by sprinkling sugar over the scones before placing them in the oven.
