Ingredients:
• ½ pound pie dough
• ¼ cup shortening
Ingredients Filling:
• 4 Large apples, fresh
• 1 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
• 6 tbsp butter
• 1 tbsp lemon juice, fresh
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• ½ tsp allspice
• 1 tsp cloves
• 1/3 cup flour
Ingredients Topping:
• ½ cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 3 tbsp water
• 1 ½ cups walnuts, chopped
• 4 tbsp butter
Ingredients:
1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
2. Using shortening, lightly grease 4 individual soufflé dishes.
3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pie dough to 1/8 inch thick. Cut the dough to fit into the bottom of each soufflé dish and place them into the bottom of each dish.
4. Peel, core and slice the apples into thin slices.
5. In a medium bowl, place the apples and the melted butter. Mix them together.
6. To the apple mixture, mix in the remaining ingredients.
7. Divide the apple mixture into the prepared dishes.
8. Top each dish with another piece of pie dough. Press down on the dough to make sure the mixture is firm.
9. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
10. In a saucepan, combine all the toppings ingredients and cook until the sugar melts. Make sure not to boil the mixture.
11. Spoon ¼ of the topping on each of the cobbler.
12. Place the dishes back in the oven for 10 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving them.
