Ingredients:

2 packages active dry yeast

1 cup heated milk (120F)

1 tsp. salt
-
1 tsp. sugar
-
1 large egg
-
2 tbsps. Vegetable oil

4 ½ cups bread flour
-
2/3 cup almond paste
-
1 tsp. almond extract
-
2/3 cup toasted coconut
-
Soft butter
Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl with a dough hook, combine warm milk and yeast together. Let sit for 5 minutes.

Mixing while adding, add the remaining ingredients.

On a lightly floured surface, knead slightly and cover with a cloth. Let sit for 30 minutes in a warm place.

Again, on a lightly floured surface, cut into 16 equal pieces. Knead each piece slightly and shape into round loaves.

Place on a large baking sheet about 2-inches apart. Cover and allow to double in size.

Preheat your oven to 400F degrees.

With a knife, cut a cross on top of each loaf.

Bake for 15 minutes. They will become golden brown.

Brush the top with the softened butter and serve hot.
