Ingredients:

4 Large apples
-
3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 tsp. cinnamon

1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch

1/8 tsp salt

1 tbsp butter (softened)

Pastry for a 9-inch 2-Crust pie
Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F degrees.

Butter a baking dish.

Peel, core and cut the apples into 16 slices.

In a food processor, finely chopped the apple peels.

In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt and apple peelings. Mix well together.

Place the apple slices in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture over the apples. Cut butter over the apple mixture. Bake for minutes until the apples are tender. You don’t want them to get soft but tender. Remove from the oven.

Increase the heat to 425 degrees.

Place pie crust in a pie plate. Spoon the baked apple mixture into the pie crust.

Cover with top crust and crimp the edges. Poke two vent holes into the crust to allow for steam to be released.

Place the pie in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. It is done with the crust turns golden brown.
