Strawberry Rosebuds

Disney Inspired Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 12-15 Strawberries

  • 1 cup white candy melts or white chocolate chips

  • Mint leaves (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Clean your berries well. You will wash and dry them. This is something your kids can easily help with. How do the leaves look? If they look nice then leave them on but if they are brown and broken, take them off.

  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, place the candy melts. You can also do this in a mug, but if you are doing this with multiple kids, it will be way easier for everyone to dip later on in a bowl.

  3. Don’t try to rush the melting of these guys. Place them in the microwave for 30 seconds. Take them out and stir them. Place them back in the microwave for 30 seconds and then stir. Continue to do this until they are melted. You don’t want to rush this and just put them in for a few minutes because they will burn and seize. The mixture will become smooth.

  4. Insert a wooden skewer through the bottom of a strawberry. Now that I think about it, you could probably use popsicle sticks instead of wooden skewers. I just have this fear with sharp skewers that kids will stab themselves. For goodness sakes, I would stab myself with them. If you removed the leaves you can slide the mint leaves to look like fake leaves here. If you decide not to use sticks, that’s cool. You will just hold the leave to dunk the strawberries later on.

  5. Dip the strawberry into the candy melts. You want to leave a small space between the candy melts and where the strawberry leaves would be. No one wants candy coated leaves. Well, I guess there is a market for candy-coated bugs so there must be someone out there munching down on some sweet leaves right now.

  6. On a plate, once dipped, place the dipped strawberries to harden. This will take a few minutes.
