Ingredients:

2 cups flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

3/4 (12 Tbsp) butter, softened

1 egg
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped chips
-
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (Optional)
Instructions:

Preheat over to 350F.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, sift the flour, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.

In a large bowl, sift the brown sugar and white sugar. Add the softened butter and mix until well combined. It will be light and smooth.

Into the butter mixture, add the egg and vanilla. Mix well.

Add the flour mixture into the butter mixture in two parts. Mixing between each addition.

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts (optional) in the dough.

Make a tablespoon size ball of dough and place 1/2 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet. Press down very slightly on each ball.

Bake the cookies for 7 minutes. Let cool on the pan for two minutes and then transfer to a wire rack.
