What you will need:
-
16 Large marshmallows
-
2 tablespoons margarine
-
1 cup crispy rice cereal
-
1/3 cup butterscotch chips
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
-
Place a heat-proof bowl over a saucepan filled with an inch of water. Do not let the bottom of the bowl touch the water. The water should be barely simmering, melt the marshmallows with the margarine. Stir with a wooden spoon. Once melted, remove from the heat.
-
Stir in the rice cereal treats. I had to add more than the recipe called for. Once I mixed the original cereal and marshmallows together I found it too liquidity. I added around 3/4 of a cup and mixed it together. Let cool while you proceed to step number 3.
-
Chop up the butterscotch pieces into small pieces.
-
Mix the butterscotch pieces and vanilla into the cooling marshmallows.
-
Cover a baking sheet with a piece of wax paper. I actually used parchment paper.
-
Separate the mixture into 10-12 small balls. Shape each ball into a bone shape. Place on the prepared baking sheet and place the tray in the refrigerator until firm.
