Hawaiian Chocolate Brownies

Yield: 50 2-inch bars

Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter

  • 5 ounces bitter chocolate, finely grated

  • 2 cups flour, sifted

  • 6 eggs

  • 1 cup macadamia nuts, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees.

  2. Butter and flour a 15 x 15-inch baking pan. Place a piece of parchment paper on the bottom of the pan.

  3. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and chocolate. Heat until the chocolate melts.

  4. In a medium bowl, sift the flour. Add the eggs and nuts. Mix together.

  5. Add the flour bowl to the saucepan. Only mix until the flour is moist and the eggs are blended.

  6. Pour batter into the baking pan and use a spoon to smooth out the batter until it’s evenly spread.

  7. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack.

Fudge Topping

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 12 ounces sweet dark chocolate, finely grated

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream. Bring to boil.

  2. Reduce the heat and add the chocolate to the pan. Stir until the chocolate is melted.

  3. Cool and once cool, frost the brownies.

  4. Sprinkle the brownies with additional chopped macadamia nuts.
