Yield: 1 Strudel
Ingredients:

1 pound apples ( thinly sliced )

1/3 cup sugar
-
½ tsp. cinnamon (ground)

5 sheets filo dough
-
½ cup butter (melted)
-
Whipped Cream or custard sauce
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400F degrees

Prepare apples by peeling, core, cut into four wedges and then cut into thin slices.

Place apples in a large bowl, and sprinkle with two-thirds of the cinnamon and sugar. Cover the apples and set aside.

Lay a clean towel on the table, lay a layer of filo pastry over the towel, brush with melted butter, lay another layer, brush with butter and continue until you have placed all five layers of the pastry dough.

On the upper two-thirds of the dough place the apple mixture and use the towel to help roll the dough as tight as possible.

Butter a cookies sheet and place the apple strudel seam side down on the sheet.

Brush the top with remaining melted butter, and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Serve hot with whipped cream or custard sauce.
