Hi, you beautiful baker!
Let me start off by saying you all look fantastic today. I see you sir with the yellow polka dot pants on, you have some interesting taste but I like it.
I’m so excited about today because it’s based off one of my two favorite animals; the giraffe. I could stand at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for hours staring at them. When I lived in Orlando I would head over to see them all by myself. I hope the cast members didn’t think I was the weird Giraffe Lady. Either that or they thought I was trying to get a date with the cast members because it always seemed to be the same guys. I’ll admit they were easy on the eyes but I was there for my giraffes.
Let’s make some Giraffe Ear Cereal treats!
Firstly remember you can find these in a three pack in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Again the stores are as follows: Island Mercantile, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Discovery Trading Company, Mandala Gifts, Out of the World, Riverside Depot and Zuri’s Sweets Shop.
What you will need:
-
Premade Mickey or Minnie cereal treats
-
1 package of yellow candy melts (you can also use white candy melts with some yellow food coloring mixed in)
-
Milk Chocolate chips or 1 package of brown candy melts.
Let’s get to a decorating!
-
Place a piece of parchment paper over a baking sheet.
-
In a medium bowl, place the yellow candy melts. Place in the microwave for 30 seconds, and stir. Keep microwaving for 30 seconds and stirring until the candy melts are melted.
-
Press the top half of Mickey’s head into the candy melt. Make sure to coat the ears and forehead completely. Place the mickey on the prepared baking sheet. Continue with all the Mickey heads.
-
Place in the refrigerator until completely cool.
-
In a small bowl, melt the milk chocolate chips or chocolate candy melts the same way you did the yellow candy melts.
-
Remove the Mickey heads from the refrigerator. Use a spoon to drop small dots of the chocolate over the yellow ears. These will become to spots.
-
Let cool completely before serving or the chocolate will spread.
How easy was that? Now you have some perfect Giraffe Mickey and Minnie cereal treats for any safari party… or tueday after in your pijamas. Who says you have to get dressed every single day? Noone… ok a lot of people but not today you don’t!
Happy baking everyone!
