Hey beautiful people!

So I’ve decided it’s time to get in shape. Ironic since I’m part of a team of people who have a sugar filled site. I don’t really want too but I’m in my late thirties and it’s not going to get any easier.

I joined weight watchers and signed up for the gym. Both things I’ve done before and have worked for me in the past.  I don’t really have a good reason why I ever stopped. Things were working out and I guess I just said: “that’s good enough”. I need to not let that happen this time. Do you ever get like that? You think you lost a few pounds and you allow yourself to eat whatever you want. I wonder if it’s just the easy way out.

I just got back from an Aquafitness class and I’m exhausted. I knew I wanted to make another recipe for the April Cookbook Challenge, but I didn’t want to make anything super complicated. I found the perfect little recipe; Creme de la Creme a la Madame Bonfamille.

I haven’t been sleeping well lately so I think this warm milk drink will be perfect. The recipe says it will take the nighttime jitters away. It will make you sleepy as a newborn kitten. It’s inspired by the movie The Aristocats. I don’t think we have done a recipe inspired by it yet.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 2 teaspoon honey

  • 2 teaspoon brown sugar

  • 2 marshmallows

  • Chocolate syrup

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, vanilla, honey, and brown sugar.

  2. Cut the marshmallow in half.

  3. Pour a little chocolate syrup on a plate. Use a chopstick or something with a rounded edge to dip in the chocolate sauce. Paint a paw print on the marshmallow.

  4. Pour the liquid into a mug. The recipe says it will make enough for 4 saucers, but it made just slightly more than a mug.

  5. Carefully place the marshmallow with the paw up into the saucer or mug.

  6. Let cool for a moment and the marshmallow will melt a little in the milk.

I think it might be my bedtime beautiful people. This little drink is doing its job and I’m getting pretty sleepy. Let’s hope for good Disney dreams tonight.

Happy baking friends!
